DIN Deactivated? Reactivate It Through DIR-3 KYC Web

DIN Deactivated? Reactivation by CA, handled by CA Rinky Vishwakarma, ICAI 177507, at SVT & Associates.

₹999Professional fee · MCA fee shown separately

A DIN is deactivated when required KYC is not filed by the due date. It is reactivated by filing DIR-3 KYC Web and paying the government's ₹5,000 fee. Until then, the director cannot sign MCA forms. SVT & Associates prepares and files the reactivation for a ₹999 professional fee.

DIN Deactivated? Reactivate It Through DIR-3 KYC Web

Deactivation does not delete the DIN or affect the company's existence, but it blocks the director from signing MCA filings. Any form needing that person's digital signature will fail until the DIN is reactivated, which is why the issue tends to surface at inconvenient moments.

Reactivation runs through the same DIR-3 KYC Web form, with the ₹5,000 government fee paid on the portal. Reactivation may involve additional verification steps, so we confirm the route for your DIN before starting and never start a filing that will be rejected.

Common Questions

When is DIR-3 KYC due now?

Under Rule 12A as amended with effect from 31 March 2026, DIR-3 KYC is due by 30 June of the year following every third consecutive financial year. Directors who had completed KYC before the change have their next filing due by 30 June 2028. Send us your DIN and we confirm your own date.

Do I still have to file DIR-3 KYC every year?

No. The annual requirement with a 30 September deadline was replaced by a once-in-three-years filing. What has not changed is the duty to report a new mobile number, email address or residential address within 30 days, which applies at any point in your three-year cycle.

What happens if I miss DIR-3 KYC?

The DIN is deactivated, which blocks the director from signing MCA filings for every company or LLP they serve. Reactivation is done through DIR-3 KYC Web with a flat government fee of ₹5,000. Our professional fee of ₹999 is charged separately, and we confirm the position before you pay.

Do I need a digital signature certificate for DIR-3 KYC?

Only when the filing updates your mobile number, email address or residential address. That kind of filing needs the director's digital signature and certification by a practising CA, CS or CMA. A routine three-yearly KYC with no changes is verified through OTPs sent to your registered mobile and email.

Which documents do I need to share?

For a routine filing you need your DIN, PAN and access to the mobile number and email registered against the DIN so you can approve OTPs. NRI and foreign directors add passport details. If you are updating an address, keep a recent address proof and your digital signature ready.

What if I change my mobile number, email or address?

Report it through DIR-3 KYC Web within 30 days of the change. This is required even when your three-year KYC is not yet due, and it does not restart your cycle. Because it alters your record, the form needs your digital signature and a CA's certification.

How long does the filing take with SVT & Associates?

Once we have your DIN, PAN and your OTPs, we typically complete the filing within about one hour during working hours. MCA portal processing and status updates on the DIN itself are outside our control, so we share the acknowledgement as soon as it is generated rather than promise a fixed MCA timeline.

Who files it, and what do I get at the end?

SVT & Associates is a Chartered Accountancy firm, and the filing is prepared and, where certification is required, certified by a practising ICAI-registered CA with a UDIN. You receive the MCA acknowledgement with the Service Request Number so you have proof of every filing we make.

How long does reactivation take after filing?

The time depends on MCA processing. We file promptly once documents and fee are ready, and share the acknowledgement immediately. We do not promise a fixed time for MCA to update the DIN status. We do not control MCA's processing time, so we track the status after filing and tell you as soon as it changes.

Can a company continue to operate if one director's DIN is deactivated?

Yes, the company continues to exist, but filings needing that director's signature are blocked. Reactivating quickly is the practical fix. The company's existence and other filings that do not need that director's signature are not affected. Send your DIN and PAN and we confirm the exact position for your case before any fee is charged.
