Quick answer
A stock certificate for a jeweller is a CA-signed statement of gold, silver, diamonds and finished jewellery held on a date, by weight, purity and value. Jewellers use it for bank working capital and gold metal loans, limit renewals and GST ITC-01 claims above ₹2 lakh. Each certificate carries a UDIN.

Grams, purity and carats before rupees
Jewellery stock is measured in grams and carats before rupees. Gold is recorded by gross weight, net weight and purity; diamonds and coloured stones by carat and quality. Value depends on the metal rate on the certificate date and on whether stock is valued at cost or market. We reconcile weight-wise stock with your jewellery software, state the purity basis, and show the metal rate used and its date on the certificate.
Jewellers also hold goods that aren't theirs: customers' old gold for exchange, articles sent for repair, stock taken on approval from wholesalers, and gold borrowed under metal loans. Some of their own stock sits with karigars (artisans) for making. We separate owned stock, stock with karigars, approval goods and customer goods, so the bank's figure includes only what it can actually rely on.

| Limit review | An account whose limit is not reviewed or renewed within 180 days of the due date can be treated as an NPA. | RBI prudential norms (IRACP) |
| ITC-01 certification | ITC-01 details must be certified by a practising CA or cost accountant if the total claim exceeds ₹2 lakh. | Rule 40(1)(d), CGST Rules, 2017 |
| ITC-01 time limit and invoice age | File within 30 days of becoming eligible; no credit on invoices more than one year old. | Rule 40(1)(b) CGST Rules; Section 18(2) CGST Act |
| UDIN on certificates | UDIN is mandatory on all certificates issued by Chartered Accountants from 1 February 2019. | ICAI; udin.icai.org |
