Quick answer
A stock certificate for a pharmaceutical business is a CA-signed statement of raw materials, packing materials, work-in-progress and finished goods held on a date, split by quality-control status and expiry. API makers, formulation units and pharma distributors use it for bank drawing power, limit renewals and GST ITC-01 claims.

Expiry dates and QC status decide what counts
Pharma stock carries dates and a status that decide its value. Every batch has a manufacturing and expiry date, APIs often have a retest date, and material moves through quarantine, testing, approval or rejection. A bank can safely lend only against approved, saleable, in-date stock. We split stock by QC status, show near-expiry batches separately, and keep rejected material out of the eligible figure.
Distributors and stockists face a different problem: returns. Expired stock returned by chemists, breakage and goods awaiting credit notes from the manufacturer all sit in the godown but may be worth little. We separate returns awaiting credit, value them at the amount the manufacturer is likely to credit, and match batch-wise stock with your distribution software, whether it is a pharma-specific package or Tally.

Stock under test is shown apart from approved stock.
Distributor with expiry returns
Returns are valued at the likely credit from the manufacturer.
