Quick answer
A stock certificate for CC limit renewal is a CA-signed statement of stock and debtors as on the balance sheet date or a recent date, submitted with audited accounts and CMA data. Banks use it to check that the working capital limit still matches the business's actual current assets before renewing or enhancing it.

What the credit officer compares at renewal
Working capital limits are usually reviewed every year. For renewal, the bank compares three sets of numbers: the stock and debtors in your audited balance sheet, the monthly stock statements you submitted during the year, and the projections in your CMA data for the next year. If these don't agree, for example if monthly statements showed much higher stock than the year-end balance sheet, the credit officer will ask why, and the renewal can stall.
RBI norms expect regular and ad hoc limits to be reviewed within three months of the due date, and an account whose limit is not reviewed or renewed within 180 days of the due date can be treated as a non-performing asset. We reconcile year-end stock with the audited figures, explain any gap against the monthly statements, and work out inventory and receivable holding periods in days, the ratios banks use to judge whether an enhancement is justified.

Asking for an enhancement
Stock and debtor holding periods are calculated to support the higher limit.
Renewal already overdue
The certificate is prioritised so the review can finish well before the 180-day mark.
Check Your Drawing Power in 30 Seconds
Enter figures in ₹ lakh. Margins default to 25% on stock and 40% on debtors; replace them with the margins in your sanction letter.
Your drawing power (₹ lakh)
Formula: (stock − unpaid creditors) × (1 − stock margin) + eligible debtors × (1 − debtor margin). An estimate only; your bank's sanction terms decide the final drawing power.

Where each requirement comes from, so you can check it yourself.
| Rule | What it says | Source |

| Limit review | An account whose limit is not reviewed or renewed within 180 days of the due date can be treated as an NPA. | RBI prudential norms (IRACP) |
| ITC-01 certification | ITC-01 details must be certified by a practising CA or cost accountant if the total claim exceeds ₹2 lakh. | Rule 40(1)(d), CGST Rules, 2017 |
| ITC-01 time limit and invoice age | File within 30 days of becoming eligible; no credit on invoices more than one year old. | Rule 40(1)(b) CGST Rules; Section 18(2) CGST Act |
