Quick answer
A stock certificate for a textile or garment business is a CA-signed statement of yarn, fabric, work-in-progress and finished garments held on a date, including stock at job workers. Mills, weavers, processors, garment makers and traders use it for bank drawing power, limit renewals and GST ITC-01 claims above ₹2 lakh.

Textile stock moves through many hands
Textile stock passes through many units before it is sold. Yarn becomes grey fabric at a weaver or knitter, then goes to a dyeing or printing house, then to cutting and stitching, often all at different premises. At any moment, a large part of a business's stock can be at job workers. We build the stock position stage by stage, using delivery challans and job-work records, and show which job worker holds what, so stock is neither missed nor counted twice.
Fashion and season decide value. Designs that didn't sell last season, cancelled export orders and rejected pieces usually go as stock-lots at a fraction of cost. Banks and stock auditors look hard at this. We show slow-moving and old-season stock separately at realisable value, and deduct unpaid yarn and fabric creditors, a large figure in textile trade credit, to arrive at the paid stock banks lend against.
