When You Need Accounting Services for Manufacturing SMEs

In Detail

Accounting Services for Manufacturing SMEs: how it works and what to expect

Why a manufacturer needs cost per unit

A trader earns the difference between the buying and selling price. A manufacturer earns it after material, labour, power, wastage and overhead, so the selling price is only profitable if the unit cost is known. Without it, quotes are guesses.

We build a costing sheet per product from the bill of materials and actual overheads, and update it each month with current input prices. When steel, resin or cotton prices move, you see the effect on margin before the next quotation goes out.

Stock control, job-work and bank statements

Stock is usually the largest asset and the easiest to mis-state. We reconcile the ledger to a physical count each month for fast-moving items and each quarter for the rest, then list the differences with a probable reason.

Job-work sent to outside units stays in your stock until returned, and each challan is tracked to its return. The same stock and debtors data supports the bank's quarterly statements, so the figures sent to the bank agree with your books.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should a small factory count stock?

Fast-moving and high-value items monthly, and the full stock at least once a quarter and at year end. Frequent counts catch theft, wastage and entry errors early. We provide count sheets and reconcile each count to the ledger with a short explanation of differences.

Can you prepare the stock statement for my bank?

Yes. We prepare the quarterly stock and debtors statement and the drawing-power computation in the bank's format from your closed books, and the CA reviews it. Consistent figures reduce queries from the bank and the risk of a sudden cut in the limit.

Do you help with MSME registration records?

The accounting records we maintain, such as turnover and investment in plant, help support MSME classification. Registration itself is done on the government portal, and we can share the figures needed. Please ask the CA if you want assistance with the application.

Who prepares and signs the work?

SVT & Associates is an ICAI-registered Chartered Accountancy firm. Every account is supervised and reviewed by CA Rinky Vishwakarma, Fellow Chartered Accountant, ICAI Membership No. 177507. Where a certificate or attest report is issued, it is signed by a practising CA and carries a UDIN.

How quickly can you start?

After a short consultation and receipt of your documents, onboarding usually takes three to five working days, and the first monthly books are delivered within seven days of receiving complete data. If a filing deadline is close, we handle that first and then complete the wider setup.

Is my financial data confidential?

Yes. As a Chartered Accountancy firm we are bound by the ICAI Code of Ethics on professional confidentiality. Your records are accessed only by staff working on your account, are shared through controlled folders or your own software, and are never given to third parties without your written consent or a legal requirement.

Which accounting software do you work in?

We work in your existing software, whether Tally Prime, Tally ERP 9, Zoho Books, QuickBooks or Busy, so you do not need to switch. Your licence and data remain yours at all times, and a full export of your books is available whenever you ask for it.

Are your fees fixed, and are there hidden charges?

Fees are fixed and confirmed in writing after we review one sample month of your data. Our fee and GST are shown on separate lines, and accounting has no government fee. Work outside the agreed scope, such as a backlog clean-up, is priced separately and agreed with you before it begins.

Do you serve clients outside Mumbai?

Yes. Most of our work is delivered online across India, using shared folders, your accounting software, video calls and WhatsApp. Our office is in Goregaon West, Mumbai, where local clients can meet the CA in person, but no visit is needed to start or continue the service.

Can I stop the service if I am not satisfied?

Monthly plans are not locked in, and you can end the service by giving us notice. You will receive your books, reconciliations and working papers in an exportable form. The Refund Policy linked in the footer explains how any advance payment is treated.
