Paying salary is the simple part. Around it sit employee provident fund, employee state insurance for eligible staff, professional tax in states that levy it, and TDS on salary deducted at slab rates after considering each employee's declared investments. Each has its own due date and return.
We keep one monthly calendar for all of them. TDS on salary is deposited by the 7th of the next month, PF and ESIC contributions by the 15th, and professional tax per the state's schedule. Missing a date triggers interest or damages, so reminders go to you well before each one.
Provident fund registration is generally required once an establishment employs 20 or more people, though smaller employers may register voluntarily. ESIC generally applies to establishments with 10 or more employees whose monthly wages are within the notified ceiling.
These thresholds and ceilings are revised from time to time, so we confirm the current position at the start of each engagement and again whenever you add staff. Registration is handled as a separate one-time service.
| Item | Who contributes | Usual due date |

| ESIC contribution | Employer and employee | 15th of next month |

Yes. Professional tax, labour welfare fund and similar levies differ by state, so each employee is mapped to a work location and the right deductions apply. The consolidated payroll register shows the amounts state-wise, which makes the deposits easy to prepare.
It covers monthly salary calculation, payslips and statutory computation for up to ten employees. Challan deposit, 24Q filing and Form 16 are included. PF and ESIC first-time registration, and payroll for more than ten staff, are priced on the Growth plan.
