Bengaluru is India's start-up capital, with thousands of funded software and D2C companies, so many accounts here are built for investors, ESOP plans and board reporting rather than only for tax returns.
Karnataka GSTINs begin with 29, and the state levies professional tax on salaries, so every payroll run includes that deduction and its return. Software firms selling subscriptions abroad need deferred-revenue tracking, so cash received in advance is spread across the months of service.
D2C brands in Koramangala and HSR Layout run marketplace and payment-gateway settlements that must be reconciled order by order, along with returns and advertising spend. We keep the contribution margin per channel visible monthly so founders can decide where to spend the next rupee.
Bengaluru start-ups typically begin with a revenue review: we compare invoices, payment-gateway data and the bank, set up deferred revenue where annual plans exist, and rebuild monthly revenue for the past year. The result is a clean set of monthly numbers that investors and auditors can trace without our help.
